人生遭遇因人而異，但大伙兒終生碌碌，無非「結緣」兩個字而已。回顧此生，由於從事外交工作，有幸結識各類風雲人物，締結不少善緣，獲得他們直接、間接的各種感召。
在本書中，我為讀者客觀介紹其中幾位重要人物與他們的事蹟，包括葉公超奮發有為的精神、沈昌煥的臨終禪偈和他在外交人類學方面對人性解剖的獨到心得、錢復的貴人哲學、胡宗南將軍的戰鬥哲學、陳立夫復興中華文化的貢獻、李模開拓靈性的人生、芮沐好學不倦的精神，以及徐煥廷醫師的醫學成就等等。
