台灣高雄人，從小習鋼琴、大提琴，曾連續兩屆獲得全國大提琴冠軍。
三年後，申請上哈佛大學，畢業時獲哈佛大學頒發「極優等經濟殊榮」（A. B., magna cum laude in Economics），也是哈佛大學藝術獎得主，並獲選《哈佛紅報》「傑出十五大藝術畢業生」。
之後她繼續音樂之路，獲茱莉亞音樂學院大提琴碩士學位，並擔任茱利亞音樂學院亞太顧問。

現居美國東岸，為音樂表演者、教育工作者，及文字創作者，寫作發表於《哈佛席格涅特協會期刊》、《哈佛大學財經雜誌》及《哈佛人》雜誌。著有《為夢想單飛》（天下文化）。

多次和小提琴天王帕爾曼及華裔大提琴家馬友友合作演出，曾獲奇美藝術獎。《紐約時報》讚譽為「飛揚的大提琴家」；《波士頓環球報》封她的演奏為「最完美的大提琴演出」。
